Fall  2010 Fundraiser

Sunday, September 19, 2010

4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Dear Friends –

Although there may be signs of fall in the air, the Buckeye Brook Coalition
is not ready to let go of summer!  Come join us for a fun filled sunset
cookout party.  This is our one major fundraising event each year, and the
funds help   provide us with the resources to continue to protect and
preserve Buckeye Brook.  Come see what we have accomplished so far, and see
what we have planned for the future.

Guest Speaker: John Torgan, Narragansett Bay Keeper  for Save the Bay.  John
has always had a special place in his heart for Buckeye Brook.  Find out
why!

Come meet Greg Wells of the Pew Trust Organization.  Recently the Buckeye
Brook Coalition joined the Herring Alliance. Greg Wells will discuss what
"The Herring Alliance" is doing to try to make changes in some of the
offshore fisheries in an attempt to help restore the River Herring and
Alewives by reducing By Catch.

Nathan Andrews:  Bishop Hendricken Senior & 2010 Rhode Island State Science
Fair Champion.  Nathan will display his award winning project "How does the
Airport's De-icing Affect Water Quality?"

Enjoy Live Music as we celebrate the end of summer with a hamburger and hot
dog cookout as the sun sets over Mill Cove and Narragansett Bay.  And
support the voice of Buckeye Brook as it seeks to help protect and preserve
this hidden jewel.
